So, you’re decorating your nursery, you’ve got the safety standards approved cot, the ultra soft hypoallergenic carpet and the non-toxic breate easy low fumes paint.
But there’s one thing that may have been left off the list. The baby curtains!
Yes - baby curtains. You’re probably thinking “what’s so important about baby curtains?” and the answer to that would be “quite a lot actually”
Firstly, you spent all the money on making sure the nursery was as clean and safe as possible with all the low allergy paints, carpets, blankets (and if you haven’t, you should) but the baby curtains are often overlooked. Why is this the case?
They are made of material - the same as the carpet and blankets. Most people think “any old curtains will do” but the curtains can cause skin reactions, rashes or even breathing difficulties if your baby is allergic to the material, even the dust in them from when they weren’t being used as baby curtains.
Color - another important element! colors have been proven to cause different emotional reactions in babies and young children. If you pick warm colors for your baby curtains, such as strong reds, yellows and oranges - this can cause tension and aggressive emotions. This leads to poor and interrupted sleep, short tempers and restlessness, all because of the color of your baby curtains.
As you can see, the baby curtains in your nursery are just as important as all the other parts and is something that should be carefully considered when adding to your nursery.
